Jai is the first born puppy of Jessie's first and only litter, his daddy is Richard Millichap's International Supreme Champion 2009 Dewi Tweed. This litter was born the 4th of July 2011. Jai went to Wales, but came back to us by chance. Although I kept two bitches of this litter, my husband fell in love with him and wanted him to stay with us. And so Jai did!

Jai seemed totally black when he was born, but he had white on his belly and his paws. We gave him the nickname "Blackie" until he received his final name by a friend of mine. Jai is the way Scottish people pronounce the letter "J" and it rhymes with "hi!". After a few days the tan color came through too, as you can see on the picture below, when Jai was 4 days old.

Soon it became clear that Jai was smooth coated like his daddy and probably would have pricked ears, as you can see on this picture when he was 7 weeks old:

And when he was 3 months old, his ears never went down again!

At 10 months, Jai had been to sheep a few times, and then he came along to a clinic given by Gabrielle Brinkman. There he showed some promising things!

And this is Jai now, 1 year old:
A good natured and friendly dog, who loves to play with a frisbee. He also loves to play with his pack members, and likes to cuddle with people.  But he espically likes to watch sheep and work them, and he started some serious training now he became 1 year old. Jai doesn't like to be groomed: I'm not a girl, he must be thinking! And he sure isn't :)
